Neurofeedback: An inside perspective

Abstract

Neurofeedback has become increasingly popular in the last decade for treating many conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, tinnitus, and headaches. Despite a considerable increase in publications in recent years, this technique lacks scientific validation. As a former neurofeedback coach and a cognitive neuroscientist, we shed light on the importance of placebo effects in this domain.
